ABOUT ME (CV)
A BIT ABOUT ME
A Postdoctoral Researcher
My current research focuses (1) on how prosodically realized focus affects our memory and interpretation of ambiguous sentences and (2) on which aspects of contextual diversity affect learning. My past research focused mainly on the various aspects of bilingualism and how the use of different languages affects cognition. My PhD research focused on the effects of foreign language on learning, particularly how changing the context through emotionality, contextual diversity, and language can affect the information we incorporate and remember.

In parallel to my research, I am strongly committed to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion within science. I am the chair of the DEI Committee of the MPI for Psycholinguistics, a mentor in several programs supporting people from diverse backgrounds (ARTEMIS, Radboud Welcomes, and Letters to a Prescientist), and lead the Talent+ Training Program at the MPI

I am currently a postdoctoral researcher at Max Planck Institute for Psycholinguistics in Nijmegen. I have a PhD from the UPV/EHU (Universidad del País Vasco/Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea, Donostia, Spain) and carried out my research at the BCBL (Basque Center on Cognition, Brain and Language, Donostia, Spain) with the help of an FPI grant (Formación de Personal investigador) from the Spanish government. My previous experience includes a master's in Brain and Cognition from UPF (Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona, Spain) and a BA in Psychology from New College of Florida (Sarasota, FL, USA), summer programs at CSU (Colorado State University, Fort Collins, CO, USA), FRN (Fundación de Rosarina de Neuro-Rehabilitación, Rosario, Argentina), and Roskamp Institute (Sarasota, FL, USA) and a research stay at Bangor University (Bangor, Wales, UK).
